Loosely for the Soul, is the sound of letting go. A palette of deeply free ambient music that finds rest in the tension.
Centered on tones from an old upright piano, this music dances with the question, “what do we do when things fall apart?” and invites you into a musical exploration of gratitude.
Staying true to its title, these tracks seamlessly flow together, with reflections of finger picked banjo, gentle vocals, and warm synths framing a foundation of piano textures recorded in my Georgetown, KY studio.

Laban
I'm an artist from Central Kentucky making music with warm tones, haunting melodies, and a longing to find the right balance of sound and space. My music lends itself to the ambient and cinematic, finding soul through uniquely stylized piano and vocal elements.
My debut album A Place By The Mountain released in November 2021, with the title track receiving a PMA Mark Award nomination for Ambient Track of the Year. A 5-song EP followed in June 2022 titled Love Carries, with the track Going That Way topping my streaming catalouge .
My latest album, Loosely for the Soul, released on September 20, 2024 to the most immediate streaming success of any project to date. I'm seeking to collaborate with a sync licensing partner who shares my vision for this collection of music.
